SUMMARY:Courtyard Sesions Featuring Rasmus Schumacher
DESCRIPTION:CHAPTER 23 of the Courtyard Sessions will feature international artist Rasmus Schumacher (Cologne\, Germany). This is one of only a handful of shows Rasmus will be performing during his time in Australia and it’s very exciting to have such a talented touring artist at The Downward Dog Cafe. \nIn the past few years Rasmus has been travelling and busking in the streets of Germany and the world. Busking has always been a great passion of the guy with the red guitar and a cap on his head\, which has become kind of a trademark during the years. In 2009 he made the decision to become a fulltime-musician\, and since then he has played in venues\, at small festivals\, private events and was part of a professional theatrical production of “The Graduate”\, where he performed the songs of Simon and Garfunkel in almost 100 shows. \nSchumacher’s first professional album “Incessant On Its Way” was released with his own record label in 2012. The record had been produced in collaboration with the sound engineer and musician Alexander Collatz in his hometown of Cologne\, in Germany. Rasmus has a special connection to the Eurobodalla region after his car broke down in Batemans Bay when he was visiting Australia for the first time in 2015. Instead of continuing his travels\, Schumacher decided to stay in the area for a time\, focusing on his music\, and drawing inspiration from the beautiful South Coast. Now it’s “another time”\, and he is traveling through Australia again and on his way back to the Eurobodalla\, playing everyone’s favourites from Oasis\, Travis\, Damien Rice\, Cat Stevens\, Simon and Garfunkel\, Pink Floyd\, R.E.M and other artists\, as well as performing his original songs. Rasmus has a sound affected by his powerful\, energetic\, but down to earth vocals\, accompanied by crisp\, soothing and melodic acoustic guitar. \nThe COURTYARD SESSIONS are a series of alternative music and art events that will feature an eclectic showcase of original and alternative live music\, poetry\, improv\, exhibitions and more; from local and interstate\, it’s a place for musicians\, performers and artists of all kinds. Each “Chapter” will be held in The Downward Dog Co. Café’s beautiful stone courtyard in the heart of Bodalla. \nRasmus will begin his performance at 6pm on Saturday 29th January.
