Courtyard Sessions Featuring Chris McGrath

Chapter 20 of the Courtyard Sessions will feature talented local artist Chris McGrath, known as front man to South Coast funk rockers The Spindrift Saga. He will be joining us at the Cafe on Saturday 29th September for a solo performance featuring favourites & originals in Chris’ upbeat indie acoustic style.
Chris has over 20+ years experience in the music industry, having studied a Bachelor of Music at Lismore University, he has gone on to share the stage with many incredible acts such as The Living End, Thirsty Merc, British India, The Reubens, The Bennies, Alpine, Hockey Dad, The Strides and more, while touring nationally and internationally as singer/bassist to The Spindrift Saga, alongside drummer Danny Freeman and guitarist brother Mick McGrath.
The Spindrift Saga have kept Chris busy since the release of their debut album “Badnormous” in 2016, with singles “Batsh!t Bay”, “Musical Theme” and “Smile” following soon after. Between touring and recording, Chris performs as a solo artist, in various duos and other bands, as well as running his own local recording studio “Samurai Studios”.
The COURTYARD SESSIONS are a series of alternative music and art events that will feature an eclectic showcase of original and alternative live music, poetry, improv, exhibitions and more; from local and interstate, it’s a place for musicians, performers and artists of all kinds. Each “Chapter” will be held in The Downward Dog Co. Café’s beautiful stone courtyard in the heart of Bodalla.
