DESCRIPTION:CHAPTER 30 of the Courtyard Sessions will feature one of Australia’s most innovate guitarists Dinesh Moylan\, an accomplished songwriter with a lifetime of storytelling. \nDinesh’s voice has been seasoned by decades of touring in bands up and down the east coast of Australia\, performing at festivals such as Port Fairy Folk Festival\, Cobargo Folk Festival\, Great Southern Blues Festival\, the National Folk Festival and gigs overseas. \nMusical influences have been gathered from many sources: listening to bouzouki bands in Greece as a kid\, living and working as a sound engineer in India\, travels in Japan\, Europe and South America overlaying a solid grounding in blues\, roots and folk traditions. This east-meets-west flavour emerges through emotive slide guitar played on the top 2 strings of 7 and 6 string baritone guitars\, at times a haunting hint of delicate sitar\, a moment later a whiff of foot-stomping delta blues\, while rhythmic finger-picking overlays solid driving bass\, foot percussion and harmonica\, combining traditional acoustic instruments with the full palette of modern electronic effects. \nDinesh Moylan will begin his performance at 6pm Saturday 13th of July. If you would like to make a dinner reservation please contact the Café on (02) 4473 5583. \nThe COURTYARD SESSIONS are a series of alternative music and art events that will feature an eclectic showcase of original and alternative live music\, poetry\, improv\, exhibitions and more; from local and interstate\, it’s a place for musicians\, performers and artists of all kinds. Each “Chapter” will be held in The Downward Dog Co.
