DESCRIPTION:CHAPTER 26 of the Courtyard Sessions will feature 21 year old solo folk artist\, James Mcq plus support from local talent Sam and Russel Fletcher. \nJames grew up restless writing a dismantled catalogue of songs on the east coast of Victoria. Through his early teens he began playing with an array of lineups\, gaining a following performing at venues around rural Victoria. After schooling was out of the way James abandoned his hometown on the coast for the city to establish his solo career. Since then he has focused on storytelling through his music drawing inspiration from Melbourne poet Shelton Lea and Algérian existentialist Albert Camus. With an atypical folk sound combined with a disarming onstage presence James has already played some significant festivals such as The Nannup Folk Festival in WA\, as well as undertaking a 35 date tour across the nation in 2018. \nJames will be supported by Sam Fletcher (Kumera Patch) accompanied by Russel Fletcher. \nThe COURTYARD SESSIONS are a series of alternative music and art events that will feature an eclectic showcase of original and alternative live music\, poetry\, improv\, exhibitions and more; from local and interstate\, it’s a place for musicians\, performers and artists of all kinds. Each “Chapter” will be held in The Downward Dog Co.
