DESCRIPTION:CHAPTER 32 of the Courtyard Sessions will feature Candelo based singer\, performer and songwriter Pete Wild supported by local talent Sam Fletcher\, Saturday 21st September. \nPete’s first piano was rescued from a bulldozer at a demolition site. He lives in the NSW village of Candelo; reported by the UK Guardian as one of the most exciting underground music scenes in the world. Highly regarded as a performer and songwriter\, Pete’s debut record was album of the week on Radio National. His song Mars 1 won the 2018 APRA Cygnet Folk Festival song competition. \nPete is touring his freshly pressed album Calm\, an indie-folk-pop roller-coaster ride that lurches from heartfelt comedy to deep melancholy. It’s a survival manual for contemporary small-town country Australia; caravan renovations\, insomnia-inducing anxiety\, romantic beginnings on South Coast beaches\, losing your lover to the Mars 1 colonisation project… you will love this collection of vibrant vignettes. \nSupporting Pete will be local artist Sam Fletcher. Indie folk and classic rock with a laid-back thoughtful air is the signature sound of this acoustic singer/songwriter. Influenced by the acoustic greats of the 60’s and 70’s\, and the folk songs of old\, Sam’s music is mnemonic with that of James Taylor and John Martyn. \nPerformances will begin from 6pm Saturday 21st of September.\nIf you would like to make a dinner reservation please contact the Café on (02) 4473 5583. \nThe COURTYARD SESSIONS are a series of alternative music and art events that will feature an eclectic showcase of original and alternative live music\, poetry\, improv\, exhibitions and more; from local and interstate\, it’s a place for musicians\, performers and artists of all kinds.
